Rafit Hussain
Rafit Hussain is the Chairman of the Oldham Group Executive. A committed community figure in Oldham, he has helped a great many people at different times in their lives, and he has always taken a keen interest in politics.
That commitment to others runs in the family. His father was an outspoken voice, deeply embedded in the community of the first generation of immigrants who came from the subcontinent, and he helped everyone as much as he could. Rafit carries that same spirit of service forward today.
Rafit is now a respected figure in Oldham’s political life. As Chairman, he has set out a clear aim: to help the community as much as he can by helping the right people get into the right positions at the council. That means backing strong, community-minded candidates who will work hard for the residents they serve, all year round and not just at election time.
He leads the Oldham Group Executive, which oversees the group’s organisation, its strategy and the selection of its candidates.
